A display device includes a display panel which includes pixels; a backlight unit which supplies light to the display panel and includes multiple light sources successively arranged in the first direction of the display panel, and a driving circuit which controls the display panel to display an image thereon and generates backlight control signals for periodically tuning on/off the light sources, respectively. The driving circuit generates multiple backlight control signals to make the turn-on time of each light source different according to the positions of the light sources which are arranged in the first direction.
