Disclosed is an automatic bus fare collection system based on a wireless interface which allows wireless data transmission and reception between a plurality of terminals such as a driver terminal, a boarding/alighting terminal, a multi-counter, an announcement and information terminal installed inside a vehicle (bus). The automatic bus fare collection system based on a wireless interface comprises: a vehicle terminal unit which is installed inside the bus to process passenger boarding and alighting data, accounting information, vehicle information, counting data and destination information; and an access point which provides a wireless interface for the vehicle terminal unit through a wireless protocol and relays the wireless interface among vehicle terminals in the vehicle terminal unit.
