The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing interior and exterior materials for a building which is provided to manufacture the interior and exterior materials which have beautiful appearance improved, which are harmless to humans, which are light in weight, which have good strength and which are not easily broken due to toughness; and the interior and exterior materials for a building. The method according to the present invention comprises: a step of preparing a mixture by mixing magnesium: 30-50 wt%; plaster: 10-20 wt%; cement: 5-15 wt%; paper: 20-35 wt%; white clay: 3-10 wt%; and water 2-10 wt%; a step of molding the mixture into a flat shape by using a press and manufacturing a base after drying the mixture; a step of attaching a synthetic resin pattern film, on which patterns are formed, to a surface of the base; and a step of coating the pattern film with a finishing material, which is a transparent and melted synthetic resin, at a thickness of 0.5-1.2mm, and drying and finishing the pattern film.
