The present invention relates to a screw type electronic parking brake for a vehicle that is to prevent damage to a mechanical configuration constituting an electronic parking brake. The screw type electronic parking brake for a vehicle according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a pad that selectively compresses a disk in response to a relative linear movement between a screw bolt and a screw nut, and a roll away reclamp (RAR) function, which is a function to increase a clamping force of the pad when a vehicle wheel rotates over a reference control volume in a state where the pad compresses the disk when the vehicle is stopped. The RAR function is stopped in a case where a previously determined damage reference value is detected so as to prevent the damage to the screw bolt and the screw nut even when the rotation of the wheel is detected. |
