摘要

The present invention is an optical isolator including: optical fiber that serves as an optical waveguide propagating incident light, a polarizer to polarize the incident light, and a faraday rotator to rotate a polarization plane polarized by the polarizer by 45°. Provided is the optical isolator with electrophonic fiber which represents magneto-optical effect by containing a quantum dot on a core layer of the optical fiber and/or an internal cladding layer, wherein magneto-optical effect enable visible light to be used of the optical isolator.
