摘要 The present invention relates to a brace friction damper using a viscoelastic body, the brace friction damper comprising: a support unit installed in a structure; a damping rod combined with the support unit; a connecting unit for connecting the support unit and the damping rod; a friction unit including first and second friction pads which are fixed on the support unit and the damping rod respectively to be slidable by rubbing against the support unit and the damping rod in between the support unit and the damping rod while being in contact with the support unit and the damping rod and which are composed of a viscoelastic body. The brace friction damper using a viscoelastic body is capable of effectively preventing a building from being deformed and damaged due to occurrence of earthquake by having multiple friction pads slid to damp an external force affecting a construction.
