The system (10) has a container (20) adapted to receive waste (7). An access unit is arranged to authorize filling of the container by waste, through an interior space (A) of a private cabinet (1). A storage drawer (32) is arranged to authorize collection of the waste stored in the container through an external space (B). The container is located in the interior space of the cabinet. The access unit is designed as an opening (22) placed in the container. An articulated trap door (23) is arranged to move between an obturation position of the opening and an open position. An independent claim is also included for a method for storing waste of a private cabinet in a passengers freight vehicle.
