The invention relates to an automated system (1) for the secure dispensing of a unit dose of a drug from a blister pack comprising at least one cavity containing the drug. The system comprises: means for securing a clip to the blister pack; means for positioning and orienting the clip in relation to the blister pack according to the position and orientation of the cavities and/or grooves separating the cavities in the blister pack; and means for recording data relating to the position and orientation of the cavities in the blister pack, data relating to the position and orientation of the grooves separating the cavities, and data relating to the identification of the pack, as well as data relating to the identity, position and orientation of the clip attached to the pack. |
