PURPOSE: An adaptive evaluation system based on a computer by using a Bayesian network and a method thereof are provided to rapidly and accurately estimate an ability of a learner by considering correlation between questions. CONSTITUTION: A correlation information generation unit(120) generates correlation information between a detail learning area and an evaluation question of an evaluated subject by clustering and structuring the evaluation question stored in an evaluation question database. A Bayesian network unit(150) generates a Bayesian network based on the generated correlation information. A learning progress estimation unit(160) estimates learning progress of a learner for each evaluation question and detail learning area by using the Bayesian network. An evaluation result database(130) stores an evaluation result of past learners for the evaluation question.
