The present invention relates to a sea chest for a ship and, more particularly, to grids of a sea chest for a ship which serve as guide plates for adjusting the flow of fluid so as to minimize surface resistance of the hull around a sea chest and serves to collect seawater and remove various foreign matters contained in the collected seawater, thereby saving fuel and maintaining cooling effectiveness or balance from stem to stern at a position where the ship comes into contact with water. The grids formed on a frame of the sea chest serve as the guide plates in a lengthwise direction on a crosspiece which is formed in the widthwise direction of the frame and are arranged to be inclined at regular intervals so as to reduce an eddy while seawater passes and to reduce surface resistance to the hull at the same time. |
