PURPOSE: A sound source editing device and a method thereof improve the complicated user control manner of a traditional technology and allow a user to edit a sound source file in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. CONSTITUTION: In a sound volume information analysis stage (S510), a sound source file's volume at each play point is analyzed. In an editing screen display stage (S520), a volume wave form including a play time axis and a play volume axis is displayed while a first editor image and a second editor image which can be moved along the axes are placed on the wave form. In an editing part selection stage (S530), a first editing point out of all the play points of the sound source file is selected regarding a point to which the first editor image travels on the play time axis while a second editing point is selected regarding another point to which the second editor image travels on the play time axis. In an editing part setting stage (S540), the part between the first editing point and the second editing point is set as the part to be edited.
