PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle side collision determining device capable of achieving both improvement of occupant protection performance and cost reduction without using a side impact sensor.SOLUTION: A vehicle side collision determining device 1 includes: first vibration detection means 11 for detecting high-frequency vibration in the acoustic band generated in a vehicle in collision; second vibration detection means 12 for detecting low-frequency vibration in the vehicle width direction of a band lower than the acoustic band; and side collision determination means 13 for determining whether or not a side collision requiring starting an occupant protection apparatus has occurred on the basis of the detection results of the first vibration detection means and the second vibration detection means. |
