<p>[Problem] To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, wherein modified image can be obtained in real time using an FPGA or a parallel-processing hardware circuit having an ordinary processing capability, even in an image with many pixels. [Solution] In order to determine the brightness of a pixel (P), overlapped blocks (mine, lu, uu, ll) are used as blocks to be calculated, the ratio between the area of an overlapped portion and the area of the block to be calculated is obtained for each of the blocks to be calculated, brightness of tone maps (brightness after mapping) of the blocks to be calculated are multiplied by these ratios, and the multiplied values calculated for each of the blocks to be calculated are added up, to make adjusted brightness for the pixel (P).</p> |
