Control of a motor vehicle power unit comprises, at engine start-up, monitoring variations in the value held by a variable representative of the difference between a set acceleration of the engine and an instantaneous acceleration of the engine, said monitoring being performed over an analysis period (T), and, subsequently, on the basis of the data obtained during monitoring, establishing a start-up quality index representative of the performance of the engine during start-up, in particular the energy efficiency of the engine. |
