The present invention relates to a gene CaSGT1 (Capsicum annuum Suppressor of G Two allele of SKP1 1) capable of inducing apoptosis by interaction with nonpathogenic bacterial protein AvrBsT and transgenic plants using the same. According to the present invention, the gene can effectively control disease resistance of the plants by interaction with AvrBsT, thereby being useful as a genetic material for molecular breeding so contributing to the production of a disease-resistant plant variety and transgenic plants.
