摘要 The present invention relates to a groove cutting byte and a method of machining the groove using the same which simultaneously machines an insertion groove for receiving a sealing and a chamfer on an outer peripheral surface of a sleeve to prevent occurrence of wearing between the sealing and a rear cover or between the sealing and a retainer, thereby improving the surface roughness of two sides of the insertion groove and increasing the productivity thereof, as well as reducing tool costs and preventing poor machining due to chips. A shank (10) is fastened to a holder of a computer numerical control (CNC) machining machine, and groove cutting bytes (11) are mounted to the shank (10) to protrude outwardly from an outer peripheral surface of the shank (10), thereby machining the chamfer of an insertion groove (21) for receiving the sealing on the outer peripheral surface of a sleeve (20) and the width of the insertion groove and the outer diameter and inner radius of the insertion groove through one process only. The byte performs the cutting so that surface roughness (Ra) of the insertion groove is 0.8a, the inner radius diameter is 0.2 mm, and the chamfer of the outer diameter is 0.1 mm. The groove cutting byte is configured so that an inclined angle of a vertical surface (a) is 1 to 5 degrees, and an inclined angle of both sides (c) is 1 to 5 degrees, and an inclined angle of an upper surface (b) is 1 to 5 degrees.
