PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device allowing inexpensive configuration of a dual mode brake structure.SOLUTION: A drum brake device 11 includes: first and second brake shoes 27 and 29 which face an inner peripheral surface of a brake drum and are movably and elastically supported by a backing plate 25; a wheel cylinder 13; an anchor section 15; an adjuster 17 interposed between adjacent ends on the wheel cylinder 13 sides of the first and second brake shoes 27 and 29; an expanding mechanism 19 expanding the first brake shoes 27 and the second brake shoe 29; a switching lever 21 which is rotatably provided in the first brake shoe 27 and is rotated by prescribed acting force or more of the expanding mechanism 19; and a switching strut 23 which is provided between adjacent ends on the anchor section 15 sides of the first and second brake shoes 27 and 29 and expands the adjacent ends on the anchor section 15 sides of the first and second brake shoes 27 and 29 being driven by the rotation of the switching lever 21. |
