PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for selecting a gear oil used for lubrication of a gear installed in a wind power generator, which can achieve highly-accurate and easy selection of the gear oil having high oxidation stability and a less sludge amount.SOLUTION: A method for selecting a gear oil used for lubrication of a gear installed in a wind power generator includes: a first step of deteriorating the gear oil at a predetermined deterioration temperature and in predetermined deterioration time; and a second step of determining the deterioration of the gear oil from the relation between a rotating pressure vessel oxidation test (RPVOT) value and a sludge amount of the gear oil as a depleted oil after the first step. |
