This secondary battery is provided with: a power generating element having electrodes; a battery container having the power generating element housed therein; external terminals that are provided to the battery container; a current collector, which has electrode connecting sections connected to the electrodes of the power generating element, terminal connecting sections connected to the external terminals, and thermally connecting sections that are respectively provided between the electrode connecting sections and the terminal connecting sections; and temperature suppressing members, which are provided to the thermally connecting sections, respectively, and which suppress temperature increase of the current collector. The temperature suppressing member is formed of a composite material having insulating filler dispersed in a matrix formed of an insulating resin. The matrix has a transformation point in a temperature region lower than the melting point of the current collector that is provided with the temperature suppressing members, and the filler has heat conductivity higher than that of the matrix. |
