The method involves grinding a conductor film surface in a predetermined sliding section (4) and a dust free isolated region (5) by a circulating endless abrasive belt (6) that is aligned transverse to a longitudinal direction (L2) of a conductor film at an angle of about 90 degrees. Abrasive dust during grinding in a detour region of the circulating abrasive belt is collected. The abrasive belt is pressed from downside against the conductor film a by a pressure roller (14) during a sharpening process. An independent claim is also included for a grinding device for arranging at a tape winding machine for winding the conductor film to the coil and/or a transformer.
