摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine with high response capable of reducing NOx contained in exhaust air without complicating a structure.SOLUTION: A variable valve mechanism control part 55 opens an exhaust valve 13 by a variable valve mechanism part 42 not only in an exhaust stroke, but also in a suction stroke. Thereby, exhaust air exhausted from a combustion chamber 16 is returned to the combustion chamber 16 together with suction air one part of which is sucked from a suction passage 28 in the suction stroke. A fluid injector 41 injects non-combustible fluid containing water to the exhaust air exhausted from the combustion chamber 16. Therefore, during the suction stroke, the exhaust air sucked in the combustion chamber 16 from an exhaust passage 23 contains water vapor generated by evaporating water in the non-combustible fluid. As a result, the exhaust air exhausted from the combustion chamber 16 in the exhaust stroke is added with the non-combustible fluid from the fluid injector 41, and returned to the combustion chamber 16 in the next suction stroke.
