The device has pressing drums (10.1, 10.2) including radially extending pressing channels (27) distributed over a circumference. The channels connect bottoms (28) of circular retaining grooves with a cavity (21) within the drums. A circular, radially outwardly lying tooth (29) with a tooth tip (31) is provided at pressure rings. An arc-shaped contour (30) of the tooth is adapted to a contour of the grooves when viewed in a direction of a rotational axis of pressing wheels such that contours of the oppositely lying wheels form a wavelike or common contour line in a plane of the axis.
