The power switch has an electronic trip unit (1) whose power is supplied to internal bus bars of the switch, using direct voltage rail. The direct voltage rail is linearly movable from contact position to separating position, outside the housing (2) of electronic trip unit. A manually operable actuating element (26) is mechanically separable from electronic trip unit. The actuating element has movably arranged contact unit (13) that is linearly movable from contact position to release position. An independent claim is included for a method for separation of power supply of electronic trip unit in low voltage power switch.
