The apparatus has a clamping plate (4) which is made up of an insulating material and is mounted in middle portion of height adjustable U-shaped electromagnet (1,3). A to-be-processed workpiece (2) is arranged between magnetic poles of electromagnet and is connected to the clamping plate and electric circuit through releasable contact portion (5), so that the direction of current flow from the clamping plate is transverse to the magnetic field. The electromagnet is activated by closing the clamping plate, so that Lorentz force is acted perpendicular to magnetic field.
