In a parking brake device (PKB) for an electric vehicle in which a battery pack (BP) is disposed on the underside of a floor panel (100), a brake cable (9), which is actuated by the transmission of operating force applied to a brake operating device (7) to a brake unit (8), is divided into three parts: a front cable (91) connected to the brake operating device (7) and held on the top side of a floor panel (100); an intermediate cable (93) passing through the floor panel (100) in an upper area of the battery pack (BP), connected to the front cable (91) above the panel, partially routed to a gap space (K1) between the floor panel (100) and the battery pack (BP) beneath the panel, and holding another end (93B) in a position outside of the upper area of the battery pack (BP); and a rear cable (92) connecting the intermediate cable (93) and the brake unit (8).
