Provided are a method and a system for authenticating a payment request from a device. A method for a device to request a payment to a POS terminal includes the steps of: storing authentication information generated on the basis of a user input as to the device; and providing the stored authentication information for the POS terminal, as the device approaches a previously set range from the POS terminal.
