<p>A modular firearm (F) comprising an adjustable modular buttstock assembly (50). The buttstock assembly (50) can include a frame (54) with a central opening (62). A comb assembly (88) having a cheek piece ( 152) and a butt plate assembly (90) having a recoil pad ( 164) each can be mounted to the frame (54) by an adjustment apparatus (92a/92b). Each adjustment apparatus (92a/92b) can include of a guide post (98) and/or a threaded adjustment post ( 100) each received in respective bores ( 102/104) in the frame (54) to adjust the positions of the cheek piece (152) and recoil pad (164). The adjustment apparatus (92a/92b) also can include a locking or engagement feature (93) that can selectively increase the friction between the frame (54) and the guide post (98) and/or adjustment post ( 100), to help prevent the translation of the guide post (98) and/or adjustment post (100) in the bore (102/104) in the frame (54) to fix the comb assembly (88) and butt plate assembly (90) in desired positions with respect to the frame (54).</p> |
