摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel magnesium alloy having high strength, high ductility, as well as high in compression strength and fracture toughness, and to provide a method of simply manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A magnesium alloy composition: is represented by MgZnRE, where RE is one or more kinds of Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er, x and y are each atom% and 0.2≤x≤1.5 and 5x≤y≤7x; has a quasicrystal particle phase having a spherical shape and an average particle diameter of 0.2 μm or less, the quasicrystal particle phase being precipitated only in a magnesium mother phase crystal particle. An average crystal particle size of the magnesium mother phase is 5 μm or less, and an aspect ratio of the quasicrystal particle phase is 5:1 or less.
