The invention relates to an optical device which includes an optical waveguide (1.5) suitable for propagating a light beam by means of consecutive total internal reflections and an injection device suitable for injecting the light beam into the optical waveguide via an injection section. A polarising material (1.9) is provided between the optical waveguide and the injection device at the injection section. The injection device comprises a prism (1.4) and an assembly consisting of a quarter-wave plate (1.6) and a curved mirror (1.7), the injection device being arranged such that the light beam reflected by the polarising material toward the curved mirror passes through the quarter-wave plate, is then reflected by the curved mirror toward the polarising material and passes back through the quarter-wave plate.
