PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a benzoimidazol-2-yl pyrimidine derivative useful as a histamine H4 receptor modulator, and a method for producing the compound..SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a hemi-tartrate of a compound of formula (I-A). The method includes: dissolving the compound of the formula (I-A) into an organic solvent to produce a solution; heating the solution at a first temperature in the range of about 35°C to about reflux temperature; adding L-tartaric acid thereto to produce a tartrate solution; and heating the tartrate solution to a second temperature in the range of about 50°C to about reflux temperature to produce the heated mixture.
