MAINTENANCE METHOD FOR COKE OVEN WALL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for a coke oven wall, which secures the strength of a repair part with improved work efficiency and reduced cost in repairing the coke oven wall in a high temperature environment by thermal spraying.SOLUTION: A maintenance method for a coke oven wall includes the steps of: inserting a heat-resistant cover plate 33 held by a plate presser jig 34 in an inspection opening 10 of a small combustion chamber 1a partitioned by an oven wall 1b so as to press the heat-resistant cover plate 33 against a damaged open hole 1h from one side of the damaged open hole 1h for blocking the damaged open hole 1h; and repairing by thermal spraying a thermal spraying material 36 to the damaged open hole 1h from the thermal spraying nozzle of a spray lance 35 arranged on the other side of the damaged open hole 1h for thermal spraying the thermal spraying material 36. The method further includes the step of removing the plate presser jig 34 from the heat-resistant cover plate 33 after fixing the heat-resistant cover plate 33 to the oven wall 1b so as to leave the heat-resistant cover plate 33 in a state fixed to the oven wall 1b.
