PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability while preventing image quality deterioration.SOLUTION: A projection-type display apparatus comprises: displaying means 7a that has an effective area K as the largest area available for display; and a geometric distortion correcting unit 6 that, for an input image which is set inside the effective area K and on which a virtual effective area U before correction of geometric distortion is superimposed, performs enlargement processing for enlarging the pre-correction virtual effective area U so that a post-correction virtual effective area M has a portion in an area V between the virtual effective area U and the effective area K, thereby correcting the geometric distortion. |
