PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge device capable of reducing the size and improving usability of an upper-sheet-separating automatic document transport device.SOLUTION: An excessive portion of a document over-hanging from a first sheet-discharge tray 11 is discharged on to a second sheet-discharge tray 12. The second sheet-discharge tray 12 on a leading edge side in a document discharge direction is made of a steel wire or a pipe material and is configured so that an end of the tray 12 has a U-shape and is directed below a sheet-discharge direction. This facilitates confirmation of a leading edge position of the document when the document is set on a document table 1, and none of the sheet-discharge trays 11 and 12 obstructs document setting. Further, a member constituting the second sheet-discharge tray 12 is positioned around a center of a document width relative to the width of a document, and therefore, no member constituting the second sheet-discharge tray 12 obstructs an operator operation when handling a width guide 2. |
