PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a concentrated organic acid aqueous solution by concentrating an organic acid with high efficiency and recovering the concentrated organic acid with high efficiency.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an organic acid which comprises a step of concentrating a crude aqueous solution of an organic acid containing an organic acid subjected to a preliminary purification after being produced by fermentation, wherein the step comprises: 1. a step of bringing the crude aqueous solution of an organic acid into contact with a Type(II) strong-base ion exchange resin to allow the Type(II) strong-base ion exchange resin to adsorb an organic acid ion; and 2. a step of causing the organic acid ion adsorbed to be eluted with an eluent containing a mineral acid aqueous solution. |
