A subsea hydraulic cylinder device designed to cause two structural parts to be able to move toward and away from each other, such as to lock and unlock a subsea connector, like an EDP connector, by actuating a locking device, is described. The hydraulic cylinder device includes a piston rod (6) designed to be secured to one of the structural parts, and a cylinder part (1) designed to be secured to the other structural part, which actuation takes place by supplying hydraulic fluid to shifting chambers via respective inlets and outlets. The piston rod (6) includes a plunger device (3) partly circumscribing said piston rod forming an annulus there between and an annular piston (5) externally circumscribing said plunger device, said cylinder part (1) includes a top piston rod gland (2) internally sealing against said plunger device (3), a sleeve device (4) received in said annulus and externally sealing against said plunger device (3) and said cylinder device (1) internally seals against said annular piston (5). |
