Provided is an operating device for an electric outboard motor, the operating device being configured in such a manner that the accelerator grip does not accidentally start moving from the neutral position, that unintended incorrect operation is prevented, and that the unlocking of the accelerator grip by the operation of an unlocking button makes the accelerator grip rotatable, enabling the boat to be moved forward or backward by rotating the electric motor in the normal or reverse direction. An operating device for an electric outboard motor is configured in such a manner that the operating device is provided with a bar-like operating handle (25) which protrudes forward and which is rotatably supported by the boat body so as to be capable of being steered to the left and right, that the propeller is driven by an electric motor (21) which is driven by electric power supplied from a power source, and that an accelerator grip (36) is provided to the front end of the bar-like operating handle (25), the accelerator grip (36) being adapted so that rotating the accelerator grip (36) in the forward and backward directions from the neutral position about the axis adjusts the amount of electric power supplied to the electric motor (21), the adjustment being performed according to the amount of rotation of the accelerator grip (36). The operating device for an electric outboard motor is also provided with an accelerator grip affixation mechanism (101) located at or near the accelerator grip (36). The accelerator grip affixation mechanism (101) affixes in a releasable manner the rotational position of the accelerator grip (36) at the neutral position. |
