PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method for producing an epoxy resin, which can reduce a content of hydrolyzable chlorine and can reduce viscosity.SOLUTION: The method for producing an epoxy resin comprises steps of: (a) heat-treating a reaction mixture which contains a crude epoxy resin containing hydrolyzable chlorine and a salt, a 0.1 mol/L aqueous solution of which shows a pH of 6-10, at 85-200°C to obtain a processing liquid; and (b)distilling the processing liquid to obtain the epoxy resin as a distillate. |
