PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviations in correction timing while reducing a control load and to correct a transportation amount of a sheet even when a variation in the transportation amount of the sheet in each phase of a transportation roller is small.SOLUTION: A sheet transportation device comprises: a sheet feeding roller 37 and a sheet discharge roller for transporting a sheet S from an upstream side to a downstream side in a transportation direction by a first driving roller 40; a PF motor 25 for driving the sheet feeding roller 37 and the sheet discharge roller; a rotary encoder 49 for detecting a phase origin (0 degrees) and a rotation phase of the first driving roller 40 rotated in accompaniment with driving of the PF motor 25; and a control section that stores a correction phase for correcting a transportation amount of the sheet S transported in accompaniment with rotation of the first driving roller 40, can selectively execute correction control of one pulse in rotation operation of the first driving roller 40 and controls whether or not the correction control is executed on the basis of the rotation phase at the time of the rotation operation. |
