This scanning endoscope system has: a scanning endoscope provided with a light guide unit, which guides illumination light, a drive unit, which causes the light guide unit to oscillate in a manner so that the irradiation position of the illumination light depicts a trajectory that is in accordance with a predetermined scanning pattern, and a light reception unit, which receives the return light of the illumination light; a test chart of which a first region is provided to a marginal section and a second region is equipped with a planar section provided to a central section; an optical detection unit that outputs a signal that is in accordance with the strength of the return light; a pixel generation unit that generates pixels on the predetermined scanning pattern; a first correction value calculation unit that calculates a correction value for color balance adjustment on the basis of the pixel value of each pixel contained in the first region; and a second correction value calculation unit that calculates a correction value for pixel deviation correction on the basis of the pixel position of each pixel contained in the second region. |
