PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent which collects radioactive cesium from liquid wastes having the radioactive cesium therein.SOLUTION: In the radioactive cesium adsorbent, complex particles having radioactive cesium adsorption ability represented by the general formula [1] defined by AM[Fe(CN)]are supported on glass wool surfaces subjected to at least one dry cleaning treatment selected from the group consisting of plasma irradiation, ozone exposure, UV irradiation, and corona discharge. (In the formula [1], A are each independently either a metal atom selected from the group consisting of Fe, Na, K, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Nb, Mo, Cd, Pt, Au, W, Ru, Rh and Ag, or NH; x is an integer between 0 and 5, y is an integer between 1 and 3, and M is a metal atom selected from the group consisting of Fe, Na, K, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Nb, Mo, Cd, Pt, Au, W, Ru, Rh and Ag. In addition, the compound of the formula [1] may further comprise hydration water.) |
