PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle side collision determining device capable of shortening ignition time of an occupant protection unit and detecting side collision with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A vehicle side collision determining device 1 includes: first vibration detection means 30 which is built in a vehicle side door and detects high-frequency vibration in the acoustic band generated in a vehicle at the time of side collision; second vibration detection means 12 which detects low-frequency vibration in the vehicle width direction of a band lower than the acoustic band; and side collision determination means 13 which determines whether or not a side collision requiring starting an occupant protection unit has occurred on the basis of the detection results of the first vibration detection means and the second vibration detection means. |
