Provided is a network monitor system related to the network management of nodes and allowing for automatizing the settings, suppressing the traffics and reducing the address space necessary for allocating addresses. Included are a communication apparatus, a network management system and a node. The communication apparatus comprises: a host setting server that provides an address, which belongs to an address space shared by the whole of a network, to the node connected to a subnet; a means that sets information to be used for collecting and setting management information of the node; a management manager that performs transmission/reception of the management information to/from the node; and a management agent that performs transmission/reception of the management information to/from the network management system. The network management system acts as a management manager for the communication apparatus and identifies the node by use of an identifier other than the address or by use of a combination of the identifier and the address. The node acts as a host setting client and management agent for the communication apparatus. |
