The device (10) has a series-connected circuit connected with a resistive element (20) and provided with another resistive element. A module cover is mounted in a battery cell (30) and a cell connector, where capacity, performance, internal resistance, self-discharge and cold start behavior of the battery cell are adjusted. The cell connector is electrically connected with a terminal of the battery cell that is connected with a terminal of another battery cell. The former resistant element is connected with electrical terminals (21, 22). An independent claim is also included for a method for replacing a battery cell of a battery module.
