PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic solution which is arranged so that the deterioration in capacity when the battery is being stored at a high temperature can be suppressed and which enables the enhancement of the charge and discharge characteristics under the condition of a high-current density, and to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having the nonaqueous electrolytic solution used therein.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolytic solution for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a positive electrode and a negative electrode which are capable of occluding and releasing metal ions. The nonaqueous electrolytic solution includes an electrolyte, a nonaqueous solvent, a compound expressed by the general formula (1), and a saturated cyclic carbonate having no fluorine atom.
