Composite sheet lamination... Comprises the formation of a laminate consisting of metal sheet and a thermoplastic film bonded to the metal surface, producing zones of detachment of the film on the sheet, followed by heat-treatment to bond the film to the metal surface once more in the zones where bond failure occurred; the metal sheet is heated only at these zones with simultaneous application of pressure to the film to effect a bond with the heated metal. The film may be subjected to indirect heat exchange with the use of a liquid whilst applied to the heated metal; the heat exchange can be an application or removal of heat. The device consists of a core and shell, the former provided with an arrangement of applying pressure, the equipment so designed as to grip the product between the core and the shell. |
