PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use that is easy to produce, stably maintains ascorbic acid or arbutin of high concentration for long terms and is excellently safe. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation for external use comprises either one of ascorbic acid and arbutin, at least one selected from among dipropylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol and hexylene glycol, and glycerine, where the content of ascorbic acid or arbutin is 10-30 wt.%; the water content is at most 5 wt.%; and the mixture of at least ascorbic acid or arbutin with glycerine is prepared under heating at 60-120°C.
