The device has an ultraviolet (UV) lamp (9) and a reflector arranged in a housing (2) having an outlet (20) and inlet (22) for a cooling gas, where UV rays are directly or indirectly discharged at an UV transparent plate (10) of the housing. A conveying wing (17), a blower (21) and a cooling channel (23) cools the lamp by a cooling fluid. The lamp has movable closures (12, 13) that are provided with motors (14-16), where the closures are rotatable around a longitudinal axis of the lamp along a rotation path by the motors. A part of the closures is provided with the wing for the cooling gas.
