A control device for suppression of residual vibration of a piezoelectric transducer (1) includes a capacitive energy storage component (33), and a switch unit (34). The control device is operable in a non-working mode, in which the switch unit (34) provides voltage on the capacitive energy storage component (33) to the piezoelectric transducer (1) for reducing the residual vibration of the piezoelectric transducer (1). The capacitive energy storage component (33) has a capacitance value that is sufficient for enabling the voltage on the capacitive energy storage component (33) to substantially track voltage on the piezoelectric transducer (1) under the non-working mode.
