This application concerns the feeding back of channel quality indications (CQI) from a UE to an eNB in a coordinated multipoint (CoMP) arrangement. The UE measures channel quality of a serving transmission point and at least one non-serving transmission point. The UE uses the channel quality measurements in determining CQI for each of the plurality of transmission points which were measured. The UE compares the CQI pertaining to the non-serving transmission point(s) with the CQI pertaining to the serving transmission point to determine whether any of the non-serving transmission points meet a predetermined condition, such as having a CQI which exceeds the CQI of the serving transmission point by more than a predetermined threshold amount. The CQI of the non-serving point(s) which meet the condition are fed back along with the CQI of the serving point. Preferably, this operation is carried out on a per-subband basis. |
