FUEL SAVING-AIMED MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVING STYLE EVALUATION

A driving style evaluation system (1) for a motor vehicle (2), configured to receive and process motor vehicle-related data and motor vehicle mission-related data to compute one or more of the following summary indices that are jointly indicative of the motor vehicle driving style during a mission thereof in relation to a motor vehicle fuel consumption:
—� Auxiliary Brake Usage Index (ABUI), which is indicative of the usage of motor vehicle's auxiliary braking devices from a motor vehicle's basic brake saving perspective;
—� Fuel Economy Index (FEI), which is indicative of the motor vehicle driving style from the fuel saving perspective; and
—� Degree of Difficulty Index (DoDI), which is indicative of a motor vehicle's mission difficulty;
wherein the Fuel Economy Index (FEI) and the Degree of Difficulty Index (DoDI) are each computed based on respective pre-summary indices, each of which is in turn computed based on respective partial indices, which are finally computed based on physical quantities;
wherein the partial and pre-summary indices of the Fuel Economy Index (FEI) are weighted by means of respective dynamic weighting coefficients, each of which is computed based on a respective motor vehicle's mission-independent weight, which is indicative of an importance of the relevant index in the overall fuel consumption reduction, and on a respective motor vehicle's mission-dependent benefit, which represents an evaluation of the benefit that the relevant index provides in the evaluation of the driving style during the motor vehicle's mission;
and wherein the partial and pre-summary indices of the Degree of Difficulty Index (DoDI) are weighted by means of respective static weighting coefficients, each of which is computed solely based on a respective motor vehicle's mission-independent weight, and fails to take into account a respective motor vehicle's mission-dependent benefit.
